Mission
Identify
potential wartime and/or terrorism threats to critical infrastructure
in medical payment channels and support or develop a “Medical
Banking ISAC” in conjunction with government authorities

- Involves lockbox fraud, unauthorized
use of PHI for blackmail or other purposes, identity fraud (posing
as a physician to receive Medicare dollars), charity fraud, other areas

Accomplishments
- Working Paper has been developed, scrutinized
by industry experts, edited and posted in the Medical Banking Research Portal.
- Cyberwar WG has agreed to support team of researchers at Johns Hopkins
that will form a new institute with prospective funding from the National
Science Foundation. The Institute will research risks to critical infrastructure
in medical and banking complex, as well as other areas.
