Spearheaded by banks that wanted to demonstrate to the marketplace that they comply with HIPAA, FACTA, GLB, FFIEC, ARRA (new) and other data privacy regulations, the Gold Seal represents one of the most significant achievements of the Medical Banking Project. A 15 month review of legal issues and accreditation programs by a cross-industry group of companies resulted in an online assessment program that “instills public trust in medical banking programs.”

A myriad claim denial codes need to be processed to know how to manage each claim. What if there was a way to standardize these to support a much more efficient follow-up program? That’s what the creators of this Tool Box are doing. We have many payors mapped out, an ongoing process for which we have dedicated resources, but we are always looking for more help. Medical Banking Tool Kit for Employers .… Download the Tool Kit (PDF)

This 3-year, multi-stakeholder project resulted in the creation of a tool kit widely disseminated among employers and other groups. The document still requires additional input (the creation of contract language), however, it represents MBProject’s first attempt to implement a “Standards Panel” that documents emerging best practices in medical banking. It seeks to embed these principles in the RFI/RFP processes of those who purchase healthcare.

Medical Banking ROI Tool Kit for Providers.... Download the Tool Kit (PDF)

Drafted by MBProject's founder John Casillas and published by hfm magazine, this Tool Kit provides an executive overview and ROI worksheets that healthcare providers can use to assess the value of implementing a specialized lockbox program. The Tool Kit provides a framework that can be expanded to assess ROI for other areas, like secondary billing, denial management, contract management and more. MBProject's Workflow Automation FG may expand this Tool to develop ROI formulas for other services that are being electronically integrated onto the medical banking platform.
