Title:  Medical Banking Pilot Update - HealthTransaction Network™

Session Focus/Summary:

The session will focus on a commercial program that is scheduled to pilot a national electronic healthcare transaction network.  We will review some of the planning stages, including a discussion of the strategic relationships that have been developed with financial institutions, healthcare organizations, government entities and the academic/scientific community.  We will atttempt to understand how such a network can achieve critical mass, as well as the ability of such a network to foster speedier adoption of electronic healthcare in America through real time financial processes and integration with electronic patient record initiatives.  A software demonstration of the system will be provided.

Biography:

Joseph E. Wolfson has over 30 years experience as a successful entrepreneur and business executive.  Since 1974, he founded four technology firms, including Integrated Delivery Technologies, Inc.; Bison Data Corporation; Metroteller Systems, Inc.; and, Empire of America Holdings, Inc.  He is a well respected leader in business and community endeavors.  His awards include:  Legendary Alumnus Award (2004), Senior Fellow in Entrepreneurship (2003), Western New York Distinguished Entrepreneur (2002) and Entrepreneur of the Year (2002).  Among his most notable appointments are:  Founding Board Member, Chair and Mentor Program Leader of State University of New York; Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Medaille College; and, Chairman of the Audit Committee of Buffalo General Hospital.  His current focus is on the creation of a national healthcare transaction network that can transform high cost administrative processes in healthcare.
