for healthcare. Medical banking is poised to revolutionize healthcare.just like SABRE revolutionized the airline industry.

Text Box: Looking around the corner, we find online banking portals that offer a direct link between consumer demand and healthcare IT adoption by providers. Banks will drive this new dynamic, best classified as "consumer-driven healthcare IT". Consumers will drive healthcare providers to adopt healthcare IT and banks will provide the community platform to make this happen.

The 4th National Medical Banking Institute will explore this rapidly emerging area. Expert talks, panels, visioning sessions and high-impact executive workgroup sessions facilitated by Vanderbilt Center for Better Health will get executives up to speed quickly, facilitate cross-industry networking and provide unique insight that can be immediately put to practical use by commerce.

[Factoid: Did you know that the most important aftermath of our previous institute was the facilitation of cross-industry alliances? Alliances were created in the space of two days that would normally take months, if not years, according to attendees.]

We will provide a road map of new alliance models, isolate best practices in infrastructure, cross-industry compliance and community healthcare patterns. We'll also explore how banks are uniquely empowering the consumer using formats conceptualized in MBProject's C.O.M.B.A.T. Initiative. New strategies are delivering consumer/HIPAA-driven efficiencies all the way to solo practitioners in rural America. Come to our Institute, and find out from real world examples how this is happening today!

A Working Conference

In our previous Institute we laid the groundwork for transformation in our "A Medical Banking Road Map for America,Version 1". Our 4th Institute will expand this work. Attendees will become part of fast-track executive working sessions, un-tapping cross-industry insight and making informed recommendations that will be taken to heads of government agencies in healthcare and banking. Our sessions provide an unparalleled learning experience for industry, government and academia.

The Process

The Institute provides a facilitated educational environment that helps workgroups to drive to final observations and industry recommendations. Leading up to the Institute, workgroups are focused on drafting Working Papers that outline key opportunities and critical path issues. Workgroups are focused on six key tracts:

Following our breakout sessions, Workgroup leaders will present final recommendations to the audience. These will be incorporated into Version 2 of our Road Map and sent to policy agencies. The document will highlight how banks can become significant stakeholders in our healthcare system.
